Dutch TV show Pauw & Witteman, uses YEL for live audience feedback

Last weeks episode of Dutch leading talk show Pauw & Witteman was a very special one for two reasons.

1. – The show was about the debate between the latest 5 candidates for the ‘election’ of the new leader of Dutch political party PvdA (Partij van de Arbeid). (left wing, labour party)

2. – The live audience was able to vote on all 5 ‘speeches / pitches’ and an overall rating for: which candidate would you prefer as a leader. Viewers were also able to tell their political preference.

Our YEL software platform was optimized for this live audience participation with a special HTML5 version and a special url http://debat-live.nl
Because of this HTML5 web version, we also could reach the normal ‘laptop and PC’ users, and not only the iPhone and Android devices. And we received more than 60% of normal – non-mobile traffic that specific hour.

A special dashboard for the show producers was created to facilitate the TV show directors to integrate the live results.
In case you want more details about this case, you can contact Vincent van Witteloostuyn
During the whole hour we served almost 30 transactions (votes, chat/comments, yel emotions) per second.

You can watch this episode (‘catch-up’ ¬†/ Uitzending gemist) on the website from Pauw en Witteman.
